About

Sara Hughes is a documentary and fine art photographer currently based in Savannah Ga. Her love for photography began in high school when she spent a year in Japan. There she documented her experience through photos and video encapsulating her ever-changing self during adolescence. Sara continued her studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design where she discovered the different processes of photography and the directions it has to offer. The hands-on experience of crafting a photograph is why film is her medium of choice. She chose fine art as her concentration because of the experimentation, introspection, and many creative pursuits.

Sara is a lifetime outdoor enthusiast who snowboards, hikes, bikes, runs and competes in figure skating. She has spent time studying in Japan, Hong Kong, and France. She is inspired by the muted colors of stick season in Vermont and the Western Canadian Rockies where she volunteers at a heli skiing lodge. Her photography revolves around conservation and storytelling.

Sara is always open to new opportunities, documentary, commercial, and beyond.
